about

Debris is my anthology on the terrorist attacks of September 11th, 2001. This album is different from anything I've ever done. I blended field recordings and source audio from the day of the attacks (specifically in lower Manhattan) with newly composed music. It's a way to remember, to grieve, and to reflect. However, the music isn't supposed to be the focal point - I want you to feel like you're at street level hearing and experiencing these events the way that so many did. If anything, the music is supposed to simply support whatever it is that you need to feel. Think of Debris as an experiential and audible documentary.

Thank you to the FDNY, NYPD and to the first responders who worked at Ground Zero for so many months and years to recover and rebuild. And thank you to the National September 11th memorial and museum - your team has been supportive and generous throughout this entire process.

A portion of the net streaming and licensing proceeds of Debris will be donated on a quarterly basis to organizations working to help first responders who are dealing with respiratory illness and cancer are a result of the dust they breathed in during the recovery effort. 2,977 people died on September 11th, but more than 3,000 additional men and women have died since then as a result of exposure to chemicals and toxins during the recovery efforts.

Lastly, please consider visiting and supporting the September 11th memorial in New York - I wrote this music to be experienced on the physical grounds. It takes the visit to a new 3 dimensional level when hearing this album on the site. I myself am a member of the memorial and museum and love supporting their work and mission.
